LINKS

2nd Michigan Infantry Company A
A Civil War Re-enacting and information page. Includes a roster of those who served with the 2nd Michigan, and some reference information.  **An archive of the site has appeared at Reocities; I'm not sure if it's still active, but at least the information from the old site is still available - 04/24/2010**
Access Genealogy
Though not quite the entirely free site it claims to be, since some of its links connect to Ancestry.com which is pay-for-almost-everything, it still offers a decent source of general information to help you get started.
Census Online
An index of online census sources. Check the links carefully, as many still listed as "free" have been taken over by Ancestry.com.  There are still a number of local and state collections available at no charge.
Cyndi's List of Genealogy Sites
An extensive list of online geneaolgy resources.
FamilySearch Internet Genealogy Service
FamilySearch, online records collection of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  A broad selection of information, but of varying degrees of reliability.
Higginson Book Company
Specializing in Genealogy & History. A source for rare volumes on family history, with a searchable surname database.
JOHNSON and SCHAUFELBERGER Genealogy
The research of Rand and Sharon Johnson, including information on Ezra Parker Sr's family in Winchester, NH, and the family of Stephen Hawkins, Ezra's son-in-law.

Parker Family Genealogy Forum
Part of Genealogy.com's Genforum. An active discussion forum of people seeking or sharing information on Parker genealogy. Also forums for Brent, Carroll, Deming, Lyster, Mitchell, Texter, among others. Not all may be particularly active.
Parker Heritage
A site collecting information on all Parker lines. Features include a newsletter, database, and message board.
RootsWeb.com
Supported by Ancestry.com, RootsWeb remains the largest and oldest truly free genealogy site on the web.  There are lot of good resources here, without all the fees of its alter-ego.
RootsWeb Message Boards:
Parker

Brent
Lyster
Mitchell
Deming
Like Genforum, RootsWeb and Ancestry.com jointly operate these free message boards, covering most surnames and locales. Not all boards are particularly active.  **Links updated**
WorldConnect Project
Another part of the RootsWeb network, where researchers can post their findings.  Just be cautious with what you find.  A distressingly large number of WorldConnect posters don't consider it a priority to source their work, and some of what is posted is quite unreliable.
