Edward was the youngest son of Thomas Augustus
Parker and Elizabeth Jane Maxwell of Detroit. He graduated from Yale
University's Sheffield Scientific School, then worked for two years as an
assistant engineer with the New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. Returning
to Detroit, he married Eleanor Lyster in 1896. In addition to his business
efforts, he served on the Detroit Board of Fire Commissioners, and was a
life-long member of Christ Episcopal Church, Detroit. This photograph
is undated.
