Major General John Wilkins, Jr (22 Dec 1761 -  29 Apr 1816)

Wilkins enlisted with the 4th Pennsylvania Regiment in 1780, at the age of sixteen, and was given the position of surgeon's mate. After the war, he became a businessman in western PA, then was appointed Brigadier General of the Allegheny Co militia in 1793, where he found himself embroiled in the 1794 Whiskey Rebellion. In June of 1796, he was named Quartermaster General of the U.S. Army, a position he would hold until it was abolished by Congress in March of 1802.
